Sustainable and healthy buildings thanks to IoT

ARVE.swiss develops solutions to make buildings healthy, pleasant and efficient environments for the occupants thanks to better air quality. The basis for this is a customised Internet of Things solution. Claudio Graf talks about the opportunities and challenges of the IoT from the perspective of a start-up. David Gschwend explains how SCS develops affordable, secure and future-proof IoT systems from the hardware to the cloud for its customers thanks to broad expertise from a single source.

"Air is essential for life, and good air quality in our environment contributes decisively to our well-being.

How a start-up becomes successful with the Internet of Things

Claudio Graf has been involved with the element of air for a particularly long time. After studying atmospheric sciences at the ETH, the passionate alpinist and paraglider pilot was drawn around the world and finally to Hong Kong. There, confronted with the catastrophic air quality of the megacity, the start-up idea was born: Alpine Air as a Service - Alpine-quality air, for the whole world, guaranteed by Swiss technology.

For five years now, the start-up ARVE.swiss has been developing business fields and technical solutions to turn buildings into healthy, pleasant and efficient environments for their inhabitants thanks to better air quality. The basis for this is a customised Internet of Things solution with its own sensor hardware and firmware, secure internet connection, cloud-based backend and various interfaces to the outside world.

In this tech event, Claudio Graf explains how ARVE.swiss, as a small start-up, managed to build a customised, comprehensive and at the same time flexible IoT technology stack from the hardware to the cloud , how this platform now enables agile adaptation to new markets and challenges, and why in-house development optimises the total cost of ownership.

David Gschwend then gives an insight into the opportunities and challenges when sensors and machines are linked to the Internet of Things. The ARVE.swiss solution is a good example of how SCS develops customised, secure and future-proof IoT systems from a single source thanks to its broad expertise - from the sensor to the cloud.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you at the SCS or online!
