Mico – Communication solution for operations centres
SCS Mico is a highly flexible, fully integrated VoIP telephony and radio solution for emergency control centres in the blue light and industrial sectors. SCS Mico offers various innovative functionalities in the areas of video communication, voice and image processing as well as process automation. SCS is continuously developing the solution and operates installations as part of an ITILv4-based 7/24 support and maintenance organisation.
Communication solution for operations centres
SCS Mico is a VoIP telephony and radio solution for operations centres. A highly redundant infrastructure offers basic functionalities such as voice recording, eCall, voice recognition and mixing of audio channels with a high degree of configurability. Third-party systems are integrated seamlessly, such as Polycom, which is widely used in Switzerland, as well as conventional radio systems, emergency call boxes or in-house communication systems, including MS Teams integration. The system is operated via a web-based solution and all communication across all channels takes place integrally via a single audio system (UCC).
Video communication to the accident site
Fully integrated video call functionality allows video telephony with alerting persons at the scene of the incident without the need to install apps on the mobile phone. This allows dispatchers to see the scene of the accident or the location of the incident. Innovative image processing algorithms enable future-oriented use cases for ambulances and police forces.
Language transcription and translation
The increasing importance of image and video material has a direct impact on the way control centre personnel work. The processing of additional information is at the expense of traditional form filling and dialogue, so that processes must be increasingly automated. Thanks to modern language models and ‘machine learning’, conversations can be transcribed, translated and intelligently processed in real time, so that processes can be automated and the workload on staff reduced. Communication with foreign language speakers can be facilitated and supported.
Focus on ergonomics and usability
Usability is central: ELS personnel are at the centre of the development of SCS Mico and are continuously involved in the design and further development of the solution. UX specialists analyse the processes together with the control centre staff and optimise the operation for the daily reality in the operations centre – this leads to a very high level of acceptance among staff.
Operation and maintenance
SCS has a maintenance, operations and support organisation with an on-call service that ensures secure operation 24/7/365. The processes are structured in accordance with ITILv4 and fit perfectly into the corresponding customer organisations.
