Project examples

Radar algorithm on FPGA architecture
SCS has implemented the radar algorithm developed by ZF on the AMD Zynq Ultrascale+ architecture – optimised and tested. The 4D radar with 192 channels has a resolution around 16 times higher than typical vehicle radars. This means that a pedestrian is detected with around ten data points instead of just one or two. Even individual limbs can be resolved and the sensor recognises in which direction the pedestrian is walking. Combined with the range of 350 metres, the 4D radar is suitable for level 3 and 4 automated driving at a competitive price(more on the project).

Automotive measurement technology
With the measurement cards from SCS, the raw data from cameras, radar sensors and control units in the car can be recorded, saved and replayed with an accuracy of less than 10 us. This helps in the development of vehicle electronics through to the validation of driver assistance systems. The data can be fed back into the control unit for a virtual test drive(more information on measurement technology).

Many years of automotive experience
We have been supporting the automotive industry in the development of hardware, FPGA algorithms and general embedded software for over 20 years. Even before 2015, we developed a stereo camera for Daimler that enabled a Mercedes S-Class to drive over 100 kilometres autonomously on an overland route from Mannheim to Pforzheim(more).

Radar demonstrator Versal Edge
The radar demonstrator based on the AMD Versal Edge platform is suitable as an imaging radar toolkit for automotive developers in the field of autonomous driving. With the vector processors of the Versal Edge platform, radar data can be processed quickly and with low power loss(more about the Imaging Radar Toolkit).

AMD Alveo
Do you want maximum computing power with as little power loss as possible? We also work with the AMD Alveo U55C Data Centre Accelerator Card. Contact us for specific applications.
