Tech event: Emergency telephony for the St. Gallen cantonal police

Tuesday, October 28, 2025 Register now

The St. Gallen cantonal police have completely overhauled their control centre as part of the ÜL-NEZ. In addition to a new operations control system, the Mico telephony and radio system was procured. The system was designed in close cooperation with the control centre staff and integrates telephony, Polycom, analogue radio and video functions.

A complex large-scale project

The entire control centre of the St.Gallen cantonal police was modernised as part of the ÜL-NEZ project. Among other things, the integrated telephony and radio system “Mico” from Supercomputing Systems AG was procured, customised to the customer’s requirements and closely integrated with the operations control system. The new solution now offers consistent, uniform and intuitive operation of telephony, Polycom and analogue radio.

Thomas Diem, overall project manager for the training centre at the St.Gallen cantonal police, will present the project and discuss the cooperation between the users and the development partners. The new system has met with a high level of acceptance from the operational commanders, as they were involved in the design of the operation at an early stage.

Technical integration

Stephan Moser, Department Head at SCS, will present the Mico system and demonstrate how the system efficiently supports the day-to-day work of incident commanders. In addition to some operational experiences, he will show how Mico was designed to be highly available and how a new interface to the Polycom public safety radio could be efficiently developed and integrated.
