Smart Gate Control

Fully opened industrial gates cause unnecessary energy loss. Together with Bircher Smart Access, SCS developed Hyperion 3D, a stereoscopic image processing system that opens gates only as high as necessary and closes them again as early as possible.

Is the Air Clean?

Biological contaminants in the air can contaminate medications during pharmaceutical production. SCS developed the software for MBV's latest generation of portable air samplers. It precisely monitors the sampling process, detects potential errors, and logs relevant operations in a traceable manner.

Embedded Electronics and App for Watches

Zurich-based startup Aramedes combines traditional watchmaking with modern electronics. SCS developed the complete electronics and firmware for the watches, as well as the corresponding smartphone app.

Retrofits – Fit for the Future

If a single component becomes obsolete, the entire system does not have to be replaced. SCS specifically modernizes hardware and software, preserves existing infrastructure, and simultaneously creates room for new functions.

Charging Management for Parking Facilities

In parking facilities with many charging stations, simultaneous charging current can overload the building's main connection. SCS, together with EKZ, developed a manufacturer-independent gateway that controls charging stations from various manufacturers via OCPP and dynamically distributes the available power.

Smart Meter Toolkit

According to the Electricity Supply Ordinance, grid operators must enable their end customers to read real-time measurement data from smart meters. SCS developed a lean open-source solution for EKZ that reads this data locally and processes it in an understandable way.

Control System for the World’s Most Powerful Marine Engine

SCS developed the control system for the world's most powerful dual-fuel marine engine, the 12X92DF with 85,000 hp, for Winterthur Gas & Diesel. Hardware, FPGA firmware, and software control sensors, valves, and ignition in real time and with microsecond precision.

FPGA-based Driver Assistance Systems

Camera-based driver assistance systems must process video images in real-time. SCS ported computationally intensive algorithms such as SGM-Stereo, Optical Flow, and Stixel to an FPGA platform, allowing them to be tested directly in moving test vehicles. The implemented algorithms are now in series production.

When the Microprocessor Is Discontinued

A discontinued microprocessor does not have to lead to the next dependency problem. For suitable retrofits, SCS uses a System-on-Module with Linux to further develop existing devices over the long term and enable new functions.
