IOBnet – Exchange Platform for Ophthalmologists

Obtaining a second opinion is often time-consuming for ophthalmologists. SCS developed the IOBnet web platform for the Institute of Molecular and Clinical Ophthalmology Basel. It allows ophthalmologists to upload anonymized cases and obtain an expert opinion with just a few clicks.

AI Detects Hip Malalignments

Undetected hip malalignments in newborns can necessitate extensive treatment later in life. SCS developed deep learning algorithms that objectively determine the Graf alpha angle in ultrasound images of infant hips and support physicians in their assessment.

Is the Air Clean?

Biological contaminants in the air can contaminate medications during pharmaceutical production. SCS developed the software for MBV's latest generation of portable air samplers. It precisely monitors the sampling process, detects potential errors, and logs relevant operations in a traceable manner.

Medical Spectrometer with Electro-Optical Circuit Board

Space is at a premium in the intensive care unit. Together with Luciole Medical, SCS developed the miniaturized, laser-based neuromonitoring spectrometer RheoControl. It monitors critical brain parameters at the bedside and, instead of the original control-cabinet-sized system, now only requires about the space of a palm.

Web Viewer for Microscopy Images

Biomedical image data quickly reaches several terabytes, pushing traditional web applications to their limits. SCS developed a powerful web viewer for ariadne.ai that fluidly displays microscopy images, segmentations, and analysis data, even with very large data volumes.

Visual Innovation Through AI in Ophthalmology

Optical coherence tomography provides high-resolution 3D images of the eye. SCS developed an AI model for the automated segmentation of medically relevant structures in OCT scans. In a scientific study, the accuracy of the eye segmentation proved to be comparable to human evaluations.

Embedded Electronics and App for Watches

Zurich-based startup Aramedes combines traditional watchmaking with modern electronics. SCS developed the complete electronics and firmware for the watches, as well as the corresponding smartphone app.

Retrofits – Fit for the Future

If a single component becomes obsolete, the entire system does not have to be replaced. SCS specifically modernizes hardware and software, preserves existing infrastructure, and simultaneously creates room for new functions.

Secure Communication Thanks to the V-ZUG PKI

Networked household appliances must be protected against unauthorized access and manipulated data. SCS developed a Public Key Infrastructure for V-ZUG that equips every IoT-capable device with an individual digital certificate and secures communication with the V-ZUG cloud.
